The Department of Computer Science at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” is organizing a Hybrid Career Fair for bachelor’s and master’s students in the professional field of Informatics and Computer Science. The event will take place on September 17, 2022 – on the Day of Faith, Hope and Love – from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM at the Sea Casino in Varna.
During the fair, the innovative master’s programs “AI in Biomedicine” and “AI in HealthCare” will be presented. These programs were developed under the project “Creation of a multidisciplinary educational environment for the development of professionals with integrated competencies in the field of biomedicine and healthcare” of the Medical University – Varna, in partnership with Varna Free University, funded by the Operational Programme “Science and Education for Smart Growth”.
Companies, clusters, and industry organizations that employ professionals in IT, healthcare, medicine, and biotechnology are invited to participate. Hybrid discussion panels will be organized to present the master’s programs by the project team and associated partners. As a result of the career fair, databases of interested organizations and applicants for the programs are expected to be created.
The forum will also be accompanied by STEAM events for students, parents, and teachers. The DNA Day, traditionally organized by the Department of Computer Science in partnership with the BioMed-Varna Foundation and the “Dr. Petar Beron” Mathematical High School, will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on September 17. Educational STEAM activities related to DNA will be presented.
At 11:00 AM, a lecture for parents and teachers will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Trifon Chervenkov, MD, lecturer at the Department of Medical Genetics at the Medical University – Varna. At 11:30 AM, the discussion “Education and Development” will take place, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Momcheva – Head of the Department of Computer Science at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and Chair of the BioMed-Varna Foundation. The discussion aims to bring together key drivers of educational initiatives and STEAM practices in Bulgaria. Participants will include parents and teachers, school principals, and representatives of educational centers and organizations working with children.
Later the same day, hybrid discussion panels with international participation will begin.

All discussions and lectures will be broadcast on the Facebook profile of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and on the profiles of the event partners.
At 7:30 PM, the dance performance “LIFE SCIENCES = FAITH, HOPE, LOVE” will begin. It has been specially created for the event and combines art with life sciences. The performance will feature artists from Ballet “Art Dance”, dance formation “Elbetitsa”, as well as former, current, and future students of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. Soloists: Hristina Evstatieva-Mavreva and Ivan Hristov. The choreographer is Nina Kozina, libretto by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Kardzhieva, based on an idea by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Momcheva.
The performance is presented by the BioMed-Varna Foundation, which develops interdisciplinary research, educational, and entrepreneurial practices in the fields of life sciences, computer science, and the arts. Admission is by invitation.
